Air New Zealand Boeing 767-300 Fleet List

Current Air New Zealand Boeing 767-300 Routes

After successful operation of the smaller Boeing 767-200ER from 1985 Air New Zealand took delivery of its first Boeing 767-300ER, ZK-NCE, on June 15 1991.

Twelve Boeing 767-300ERs have served with Air New Zealand of which five remain today.

The fleet was built up to six aircraft by 1995 and were used primarily on trans-Tasman, Pacific Islands and the then extensive network operating via the Pacific Islands and on to Los Angeles.

With withdrawals of the Boeing 767-200 fleet commencing in the late 1990s a further four machines were ordered direct from the manufacturer for delivery and one taken second-hand from China Southern Airlines for two years from 1996-1998.

Additionally a LOT Polish Airlines example was leased for the 1995-1996 and 1999-2000 summer seasons.

Other than the leased aircraft the first departure came with ZK-NCE going to Air Nuigini in 2002. As the Pacific network through to Los Angeles was cut back later in the decade and Boeing 777-200ERs began joining the fleet so ZK-NCF went to LOT Polish Airlines in 2006, ZK-NCH and ZK-NCN went to in the UK in 2006 and ZK-NCO followed in 2007.

In 2008 Air New Zealand announced plans to fit winglets to the remaining fleet of five aircraft. The 3.4 metre tall carbon fibre, titanium and aluminium winglets were expected to achieve fuel savings of around NZ$7.5 million per year across the fleet. In service fuel savings were found to be 19% higher than projected. The first aircraft to be fitted was ZK-NCG which arrived into Auckland on 13 July 2009.

The current fleet are seen on trans-Tasman and Pacific Islands services as well as serving Perth, Tokyo, Osaka, Honolulu and the one remaining Pacific Islands route through to Los Angeles via Rara
