Air Nelson today commenced services between Paraparaumu and Auckland with an eighteen flight per week service to be operated by a mix of Dash 8-Q300s and Beech 1900Ds. Paraparaumu becomes the twenty-seventh destination on the Air New Zealand Domestic network.

Air New Zealand today announced firm orders for seven 68 seat ATR72-600 turboprop aircraft with options for a further five. Deliveries will commence with two aircraft in 2012, two in 2013, and then one in 2014, 2015 and 2016. The aircraft are for expansion of regional services rather than aircraft replacement.
